The idea for Bowling For Turkeys was created by Loren Braxton(pictured above), as a way to give back to the Detroit Metro Area community for his birthday by combining two of his passions: bowling and helping those in need. Over the years, Bowling For Turkeys has raised significant funds, all of which have gone directly to local food banks, shelters, and families in need .
Studies show that over 13 percent of US households were food insecure at some point during 2023, due to a lack of financial
resources. Bowling For Turkeys is committed to reducing this number. Through sponsorships, donations, and ticket sales, we aim to
expand our reach and make a greater impact in the fight against hunger.
We plan to continue this tradition and grow Bowling For Turkeys to assist even more people this year and beyond. Since its founding in November 2015, Bowling For Turkeys has expanded each year, thanks to the generosity of our sponsors, supporters, and the dedication of our volunteers. Though we were temporarily paused, initially due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we are excited to relaunch in 2024 here in Mesa, Arizona. With continued community engagement, drive, and determination, we are confident in our ability to expand the event’s scale and impact.
