Studies have show that close to 10 percent of people go without a meal at some point during the year due to a lack of financial resources. Let's Go Detroit is committed to reducing this number, and with the help of sponsorship's, donations and ticket sales, we can reach our goals.
Let's Go Detroit proudly presents our 5th Annual Bowling for Turkeys event. Since 2015, Bowling for Turkeys has grown each year and Let's Go Detroit is committed to continuing this trend for 2019 and beyond.
This year, with your help, our goal is to not only provide meals to those in need this holiday season, but also provide essentials for families through our Little Free Pantry program along with boots and coats this winter.
We will also adopt 3 families for Christmas, not only providing gifts for the children, but also energy assistance and financial education to promote financial literacy thus providing a memorable holiday experience for families experiencing a hardship this year.
Bowling For Turkeys began as an idea that Loren Braxton (Let's Go Detroit) had for helping the hungry and homeless. He wanted to throw an event around his birthday that would benefit people in need, rather than himself. His thought was to raise money by having fun doing one of his favorite hobbies, bowling. With the help of family, friends and supports, Bowling For Turkeys was brought to life November 2015.
